With the January transfer window due to open in just a couple of days the Tigers are already making moves

Hull City are in talks with Middlesbrough over a deal to sign experienced goalkeeper Seny Dieng on a permanent deal.

The Tigers have been keen to add competition to their goalkeeping ranks to challenge Ivor Pandur and see the 31-year-old as a player capable of pushing the Croatian.

Pandur has been an ever-present this season, with number two Dillon Phillips only featuring once in the Carabao Cup exit on penalties at Wrexham in August.

Bringing in Dieng on a permanent deal does not mean Pandur, who attracted interest from Boro in the summer, is leaving, but City are braced for potential offers again in January, with the 24-year-old gloveman set to be involved in this summer’s World Cup.

Pandur played a starring role on Monday night as City recorded an impressive victory at Boro, to move to within two points of the automatic promotion spots with a fourth win in their last five games.

The potential arrival of Dieng does mean City will need to move players out, with Cody Drameh and David Akintola attracting interest, while Brandon Williams is expected to move on.

Swiss-born Dieng has represented Senegal and has been at Boro since they signed him from QPR in 2023. He signed a four-year contract and has made 52 appearances for the north-east club.
