City go to the Steel City looking to continue their play-off push

Hull City will be backed by a big following at Hillsborough for the big Yorkshire derby on Boxing Day after selling out of their initial allocation.

City take on bottom side Sheffield Wednesday on December 26, looking for a third straight away win after victories at Stoke City and then Millwall on Saturday.

The Tigers have already snapped up 2,400 tickets in the upper tier of the Leppings Lane end of Hillsborough, and now, a second allocation of around 800 has been made available. Based on previous away allocations this season, City can expect around 3,900 in total.

Prices for the remaining tickets in the lower tier start at £11 for youngsters, rising to £30 for adults, and have already gone back on sale and are available here.

Wednesday are rooted to the foot of the table after being deducted points for various rule breaches, and face Derby County at Hillsborough on Monday night.

Sergej Jakirovic’s men notched up their fourth win on the road in South London, thanks to a seven-minute brace from Kyle Joseph, before Oli McBurnie stepped off the bench to head in the third and extinguish any faint hope of a Millwall comeback.

Before that trip to South Yorkshire, the Tigers host West Brom at the MKM Stadium on Saturday in their final outing before Christmas. Albion, under ex-City man Ryan Mason, recorded an impressive 2-0 win over the Owls’ bitter rivals Sheffield United last Friday evening.
