It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Flemingate Light Switch on
The rain certainly didn’t stop the people of Beverley getting in to the festive spirit. Last night (November 14) a magical light-switch on event took place at Flemingate Shopping Centre.
Fireworks lit up the sky and plenty of Christmas songs were sung, which can only mean one thing – it’s officially Christmas in Beverley! Entertainment began at 5pm and there were large screens out to make sure everyone could see and take part in the fun.
X-Factor’s Matt Terry and crowd favourites The Trilogies – comprising of Emmerdale’s Bradley Johnson, Freddie Bolt, and Nigel Passey – all took part in the Christmas festivities. Elphaba and Glinda performed a show-stopping number and there was plenty of warm food and drinks on offer, plus much more.
Over in Hull, Queen Victoria Square will come alive with stunning light and sound installations on Thursday, November 20. The lights will be switched on by Pride of Britain 2025 award winner Marcus Skeet, known to his thousands of online followers as The Hull Boy.
On the same night, St Stephen’s will reveal its new Christmas lights as well as host a community concert. The concert will run from 5pm until 8pm, culminating in a lively performance from a soul, funk and Motown band.
