There will be a number of temporary street closures to support the commemoration

Hundreds of people are expected to gather in Hull city centre on Remembrance Sunday. The annual parade and service will take place on Sunday, November 9.

Crowds will gather in the Queen Victoria Square and Hull Cenotaph areas to honour those who served and paid the ultimate sacrifice. There will be a military march from Queen Victoria Square to the Cenotaph, in Paragon Square, at 10.25am.

A Remembrance service will start at the Cenotaph at 10.55am with two minutes’ silence at 11am. The service will continue with a wreath-laying ceremony, before a march past begins at 11.25am.

Temporary road closures will be in effect in Hull, from 6am to 1pm, to maintain safety, and support the acts of Remembrance, to include the following:

  • Ferensway southbound – Road closure from Spencer Street to Anlaby Road
  • Ferensway northbound – Road closure from Anlaby Road to Lombard Street
  • North Street – Full length road closure
  • Brook Street – Full length road closure
  • Mill Street – Full length road closure
  • Cross Street – Full length road closure
  • West Street – Full length road closure
  • Paragon Street – Road closure from South Street to the Cenotaph
  • South Street – Road closure from West Street to Paragon Street
  • Lombard Street – Road closure from the junction of Ferensway to Portland Street
  • Carr Lane – Full length road closure, 15-minute hold from 11.30am approximately
  • Anne Street – Full length road closure, 15-minute hold from 11.30am approximately.
  • Chariot Street – Full length road closure, 15-minute hold from 11.30am approximately
  • Anlaby Road – Full length road closure from the junction of Ferensway to Anne Street/South Street, 15-minute hold from 11.30am approximately
