Hull’s new noodle bar could soon be able to open well into the early hours
A Hull city centre noodle bar is hoping to be able to open until 4am. Chopstix could soon be allowed to serve well into the night if its licensing application submitted to Hull City Council is approved.
The popular chain with over 100 UK stores opened its first outlet in Hull in the summer. Its store sits on the corner of King Edward Street and Jameson Street, next door to McDonald’s. The unit, which was empty until recently, was previously occupied by T-Mobile, then subsequently EE following T-Mobile’s merger with Orange UK in the early 2010s.
Chopstix’s website states its Hull store currently has the opening times of 10am-10.30pm seven days a week. However, this could soon change as a licensing application has been submitted to Hull City Council which, if approved, would mean the noodle bar would be permitted to open until 4am every day of the week if it wishes to.
The Hull Daily Mail has contacted the company asking for details on the plans for the store’s opening hours.
Some other big-name takeaway food sites are open to similar hours in the city centre. Domino’s, in Paragon Square, for example, serves its pizzas until 5am on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and 3am on Thursdays and Fridays. Similarly, the KFC in Jameson Street stays open until 2am on Saturday mornings and 3am on Sunday mornings.
The application is under consideration by the council. Anyone wishing to oppose or comment on the application must do so by November 28.
