It is alleged to have happened at the same business on three separate occasions in recent days

Three men have been arrested following reports of fake bank notes being used to pay for food at a Hull retail park. It is reported to have happened on three separate occasions between Friday, October 17 and Monday, October 20 at a business on Kingswood Retail Park.

Humberside Police say they received a call informing them that three men had entered the establishment and are then alleged “to have paid for food with what are believed to be counterfeit bank notes”. Officers attended and began to carry out multiple lines of enquiry to identify the suspects.

This included looking through CCTV footage from around the area. A vehicle was then quickly identified in connection with the incidents.

The Roads Crime Team were tasked with searching for the vehicle and it was soon spotted by officers on Clive Sullivan Way. When approached, the driver stopped on Londesborough Street.

A search of the vehicle then uncovered what are believed to be counterfeit bank notes. A police spokesperson added: “A 21-year-old man, and a 22-year-old man have since been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation, and a 44-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud.

“All three men remain in custody assisting with ongoing enquiries at this time.”
