In Binbrook, volunteer Rosemary Read has helped create a cascade of poppies from the church tower.
Read, who has been involved in the Poppy Appeal for 27 years, said she was inspired by seeing similar installations at other churches.
Making the poppies took from February until the beginning of November.
“I just think it’s absolutely amazing to see it and the community really pulled together. There were more than 70 people knitting and crocheting. It was a major job.
“I look at it every day. I can’t believe it.”
Kate Collins, warden at the Church of St Mary and St Gabriel, said it was “special” to see people aged between 11 and 93 coming together to contribute to the display.
“We need to remember the people we have lost,” she added.
