A Grade II listed mid-Victorian church has been added to Historic England’s at risk register.
Holy Trinity Church in Bridlington, built in 1870, was added to the list due to problems including stone deterioration and poor condition of its church tower.
“There’s an active community who use the church and want to keep it in good order,” said Giles Proctor, an architect at Historic England.
Other East Yorkshire sites added to the Heritage at Risk Register for 2026 include Lelley Windmill in Elstronwick, St Mary Magdalene Church in Whitgift, and the Roman minor town identified as Derventio, near Stamford Bridge.
“It’s raising the profile of the building and we hope that this will be possible to direct funding towards repair,” Proctor said of Holy Trinity Church, and the other sites on the at-risk register.
