Kerr is expected to make the move to Hull FC

St George Illawarra Dragons have released Josh Kerr ahead of his expected move to Hull FC.

Hull Live understands that FC made a move for the forward back in September and according to reports down under, Kerr has agreed a ‘multi-year’ deal at the MKM Stadium.

That move can now go ahead seemingly, with the Dragons granting Kerr an early release from his contract.

Kerr still had one more year left to run with St George, but the club have agreed to part ways with the 30-year-old so he can pick up a longer-term deal elsewhere.

The decision brings an end to the prop’s second spell with the Dragons, having joined the club initially in 2019.

He made 68 appearances in his first stint with the Dragons, which spanned four and a half seasons before he joined Dolphins in June 2023.

Kerr played 48 times for the Queensland outfit before retuning to Wollongong to play for the Dragons once more in 2026. He made 19 outings for the club last season.

“Josh approached the club seeking an opportunity to secure a longer-term deal elsewhere, and we agreed to this request,” Dragons CEO Tim Watsford said.

“Josh has been a terrific clubman and a highly respected teammate throughout his two spells at the Dragons.

“We wish Josh and his family all the very best for the next chapter.”

While a Super League deal hasn’t been confirmed just yet, Kerr is expected to become just the latest Dragons player to leave for the Northern Hemisphere over the off-season, with seven former teammates agreeing moves before him.

Damien Cook, Mat Feagai and Tyrell Sloan will be joining Castleford Tigers, while Christian Tuipulotu has signed a deal with St Helens.
