Dean Holden and Marko Salatovic have both signed fresh contracts at Hull City, as the club moves to reward two key members of Sergej Jakirovic’s coaching staff who played a huge role in winning promotion to the Premier League.
The pair, who share assistant management duties at the MKM Stadium, are understood to have agreed new two-year deals with the Premier League club, plus the option of a further 12 months.
In addition to Holden and Salatovic agreeing new deals, analyst Anđelo Roguljić has also signed terms on a similar deal, Hull Live understands, in a further boost to the backroom setup.
The two-year plus 12-month option deals mirror the new agreement Jakirovic himself signed back in early September, after he was rewarded by owner Acun Ilicali for guiding the club to promotion.
Salatovic, who is Jakirovic’s long-term trusted lieutenant, arrived with Jakirovic back in June 2025, having been appointed assistant manager, while Holden was brought in following the arrival of the Croatian.

Speaking at the recent 1904 Club live event, Holden revealed that talks had almost concluded over fresh terms, and Jakirovic confirmed an agreement had been struck in the aftermath of Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town at the MKM Stadium.
“They have signed new contracts,” Jakirovic told Hull Live. “They have agreed everything. They’re happy that they are here with me on the bench, so they’re not complaining.”
Holden has spoken about his desire to become a number one again in the future, and had been linked with the vacant job at Sheffield Wednesday recently, but City have not received any official approach.
Jakirovic, though, says Holden remains a valued member of his backroom staff and is playing an important role in City performing well on their return to the Premier League.
“I respect everything because if Dean would come to me and say that he wants to go, I want to be a gaffer, this is normal,” the Croatian continued. “This is ambition. I’m very happy with Dean because he’s a very important member of my staff.”
