The animals at Yorkshire Wildlife Park have been enjoying the sunshine as they lazed about in the heat recently. Some were even given chilled treats, while others enjoyed their pools.

The Lemurs, Meerkats and Anteaters were out soaking up the sun while the Polar Bears went for a swim. Meanwhile, the Park’s Binturongs, a species known for emitting a buttery popcorn scent, enjoyed a picnic of chilled fruits.

Director of Animals, Dr Charlotte MacDonald, said: “The animals are enjoying the sun almost as much as our visitors. The Maned Wolves and Red Titi Monkeys have been up and out soaking up the sun while the Bush Dogs have been spotted having a snooze.

“A lot of animals, like the Meerkats, Rhinos and other African species, love the heat. Meanwhile, the Amur Tigers and the Polar Bears have been enjoying the water in their pools.”
