A road safety improvement scheme is to get underway this month in Riplingham, near South Cave. Here’s what you need to know:

  1. East Riding of Yorkshire Council is investing £68,000 to upgrade the Westoby Lane/Comberdale Hill crossroads. Work is due to start on Monday, February 16, and take up to three weeks to complete.
  2. The project will include improvements to both junctions. Works will involve kerbing, haunching and resurfacing works.
  3. During the construction, temporary four-way traffic lights will be in operation. This will be followed by a two-day closure for the resurfacing of the road.
  4. Traffic will be diverted via White Gap Lane, Rowley Road and Beverley Road. While the road is closed, access will be given to properties within the work area.
  5. The scheme will be carried out by the council’s own road maintenance team. Councillor Paul West, the council’s cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “Thanks in advance to local residents and drivers for bearing with us while we carry out essential work to improve this road in Riplingham.”
