Keepmoat has started the latest phase of the scheme which already has more than 470 homes
Work is under way to build 114 new homes at the Kingsfield Park development in the Kingswood area of the city. Yorkshire builder Keepmoat has broken ground on the third phase of the site.
It will bring 114 new homes to north Hull site, where 476 homes have already been delivered across phases one and two. The latest part of the project is said to represent a £20m investment from Keepmoat.
Construction teams are now on site to deliver the mix of two, three and four bedroom homes that are being marketed to first time buyers, families and downsizers. Keepmoat will also create greenspaces, enhanced pedestrian routes and put investment into local infrastructure including school and NHS places.
Ben Hindley, land and partnerships director at Keepmoat, Yorkshire East, said: “At Keepmoat, our vision is to build homes and create thriving communities. By prioritising partnerships we’re able to reflect the needs of the community across our developments. We’re thrilled to start on site and continue Keepmoat’s major investment in Hull, bringing forward high-quality homes to support local housing needs and create a sustainable neighbourhood where people are proud to live.”
Kingsfield Park is part of the Hull Citywide Development Programme, which intends to create a multi-tenure community in partnership with Hull City Council. Keepmoat’s homes include energy saving features such as solar panels and advanced insulation.
The firm already has a strong presence in Hull and across East Yorkshire. Recently it completed a conversion of the former Amy Johnson School on Hawthorn Avenue into a 485-strong housing scheme.
Cllr Paul Drake-Davis, Hull City Council’s portfolio holder for Economic Renewal, Housing and Organisational Development, added: “The strong partnership with developers such as Keepmoat allows the council to continue to deliver modern, energy-efficient homes for local families. The latest phase of this regeneration scheme represents a significant investment from Keepmoat, underlining the importance of working with companies like them as part of the Hull Citywide Developer Partnership.”
