This week’s round-up of the latest and upcoming roadworks

Though they can be frustrating for drivers, they are necessary to keep our roads in good condition and utilities up and running. There are roadworks ongoing in and around the city, some of which are long-term projects.

Here is your list of key ongoing roadworks and those getting underway in the area this week, as announced by Hull City Council.

A63 improvement scheme – St James Street to Market Place: Major A63 Improvement scheme – full infrastructure change, operating under a Development Control Order which gives the powers to National Highways to implement this scheme. Lane and road closures until completion of scheme in Spring 2026. More details on related closures in January can be found here.

Anlaby Road: Northern Gas Networks replacing gas pipe at the junction of Anlaby Road near Calvert Lane. Eastbound road closure in place. Until January 30.

Beverley Road: Northern Gas Networks replacing gas pipe at the junction of Fountain Road to Station Drive. Lane closure in place. Until January 30.

Endike Lane: Carriageway resurfacing and concrete trench reconstruction between Keswick Gardens and Greenwood Avenue roundabout. Road closure in place on January 13 and 23.

Hopewell Road: Yorkshire Water installing new water connection outside 276 to 181. Closure in place. Until January 23.

Humber Dock Street: Public realm works, road closure in place. Works are to take place on the public right of way along Humber Dock Street between junctions with Blanket Row and Humber Street. Until April 30.

Main Road: Northern Gas Networks replacing gas pipe outside 9 to 93. Multi-way signals in place. Until February 13.

National Avenue: Northern Powergrid replacing mains cable from the junction with Bontoft Avenue. Multi-way signals in place. Until February 6.

Princes Dock Street: Works are part of Hull Public Realm development scheme. Road closure in place. Until April 30.
