An animal charity is appealing for help to clear up damage after a break-in at one of its shops.
Oakwood Dog Rescue said stock was stolen from its Hull city centre store on King Edward Street.
Police said the burglary, which left the store badly damaged, took place between 23:00 GMT and midnight on Monday.
Shop assistant Maisie said: “It’s absolutely mortifying.”
“We don’t exactly look like we’d store hundreds of pounds inside. There are no valuables here so it’s just absolutely heart-breaking,” she added.
The organisation asked for volunteers to help repair the shop and clean up.
It also appealed for cash donations as it has lost income due to being closed following the burglary.
A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “It is reported forced entry was gained into the premises causing damage to the front door and windows before it is believed items including a phone, card reader and charity box were stolen.”
