The Black and Whites are in camp this week.

Hull FC are back in pre-season training after their Christmas break – and this week, are away in camp in North Yorkshire.

The squad are training at a private school in Harrogate, with the club understood to be impressed with the facilities on show as they step up their pre-season preparations.

In fact, Hull Live understands the club opted against a warm weather camp in favour of Harrogate, and will spend this week in camp as they get to get to grips with more intense gym and field work, with their first trial game taking place in just under three weeks time – Brad Fash’s testimonial against Huddersfield Giants on January 25.

The squad will aim to get plenty of runs on the board in Harrogate prior to that, and with the time they’ll now get together, especially in terms of team cohesion, with unity a big pillar on which head coach John Cartwright based the 2025 season.

After Harrogate, Hull, who began pre-season training on November 3, will then complete their programme in more familiar surroundings at their University of Hull base as they step into February. They face Wigan Warriors on February 2 before the competitive season starts with the Challenge Cup the following week.

Like last year, Hull could face opponents ranging from the Championship to the community game, with the third round draw set to take place prior to the second round before the end of the month. The Super League season begins at the MKM Stadium against Bradford Bulls on February 14.

John Cartwright message

Adding eight new recruits to his squad, from James Bell to Jake Arthur, Hull’s head coach has insisted that his side will continue to value their key principles of hard work and grit in 2026.

Commenting on the support this off-season, which has seen Hull sell over 9,000 memberships and 6,000 shirts so far, Cartwright said: “It’s fantastic that the supporters see something within the team. That’s up to us now to keep building on that and make sure we keep turning up every single week to give them something to cheer about.

“The noise they make, the atmosphere they provide, both home and away, makes me really proud. Last season was really great to be apart of and it’s so encouraging that we have already had over 9,000 member sign ups for next year. Like I say, it’s up to us to reward them.”
