A XIII of young Hull FC talent.

Hull FC enter a new season in 2026 with new ambitions. The club, with passions reignited after a positive 2025, are targeting the next level, a play-off finish, and have signed eight new players to try and do so.

But amid the new faces comes a desire to blood their own, to continue to see young and emerging talent come through the system and make their mark on the first team. That aspiration has been made reality in recent times through Harvey Barron, Lewis Martin, and Davy Litten, three players now very much among the first names on the team sheet, with plenty more waiting in the wings, eager to impress and hungry to develop.

But who could be the next cabs off the rank, so to speak, and make their mark in the senior side? Here, Hull Live looks at a full XIII of young talent looking to do just that.

Full-Back: Logan Moy

A name already well-known around Hull FC circles, having burst onto the scene in 2024, and while opportunities were harder to come by last year, the now 20-year-old, who has bulked up again this winter, will be looking to kick on this term after a big pre-season and showcase the agile and fearless approach that makes him a promising prospect.

Wing: Roman Dawson

The outside back has suffered two consecutive ACL injuries – the second of which ruled him out of the entire 2025 season after missing much of 2024. A highly-rated player in his academy days with a good turn of speed and strong line running, he deserves some luck now and will hopefully get the opportunities at reserves level to get back playing, pick up some confidence, and get into his groove once again.

Centre: Ryan Westerman

The teenager turns 20 next month and will be ready to kick on in 2026 having missed a fair chunk of last year to an ankle injury before making several loan appearances at Hunslet. A goal-kicking centre who debuted in 2024 and added another appearance in the cup last season, he’ll be determined now to stay healthy and in form, pushing his senior counterparts to perform and be accountable.

Centre: Ben Johnson

Handed a squad number for 2026, the Hull Wyke produced utility back is Hull through and through and can play pretty much across the back line – a handy trait to have. He’s another looking to kick on after some injury frustrations in 2025.

Wing: Joe Ward

The winger made his first team debut against York Acorn last season and was rewarded with a new two year deal. A Leeds-born speedster, he’ll be aiming to get to the next level now and keep the likes of Barron and Martin honest.

Half-Back: Lloyd Kemp

Capable of playing full-back, centre, and half-back, Lloyd, the youngest Kemp twin, debuted in the latter last season and soon followed that up with a flutter of Super League appearances, showing a level of promise, bravery, and talent beyond his youthful years.

Half-Back: Callum Kemp

The teenage half-back is fearless, composed, and never gets flustered: three traits that will serve him well in his quest to become Hull’s dominant half of the future. He is also brave and tenacious and ended the year with a sequence of games alongside his twin brother. Certainly one to watch.

Prop: Joe Phillips

One of eight new signings for 2026, the teenage prop arrives from Goole having come through the system at Leeds. He’s another looking to make his mark at Hull and has a good reference from his former Vikings coach Scott Taylor. He could be one to keep an eye on.

Hooker: Will Hutchinson

The dummy half is highly rated at the club as a dynamic nine who loves his running game. He’s backed to be a long term successor to the role and will be looking to show just why when he gets his opportunities this year.

Prop: Matty Laidlaw

The middle forward was rewarded with a new long-term contract last year after holding his own in Super League. Still only 21 years old, he has plenty of time to grow and has the right attitude to continue to develop and make his mark.

Back Row: Lennon Clark

The 20-year-old is still to debut in the first team but did his development no harm playing on loan for Cumbria side Workington Town last season. He’s a solid and professional young player who’ll be looking for a big year.

Back Row: Will Kirby

The fiery forward is one Hull have had their eye on for a while. He’s had some first team opportunities now for both Hull and Hunslet, with the goal of adding to his totals this year with some strong line running and stern defence.

Loose-Forward: Jon Turner

The young middle didn’t get a squad number for 2026 but he has trained with the first team in pre-season this winter and will feature for the reserves as a part-time player this year. Another to come through the Hull Wyke system, he’ll be looking to take his chances, and like every young player, show what he can do.
