The former Leeds United defender is likely to move on in this window

Sergej Jakirovic says he will discuss Cody Drameh’s state of mind ahead of Sunday’s meeting with Watford with a view to being involved at the MKM Stadium.

Drameh wants to leave Hull City in search of regular football, having become frustrated at his perceived lack of opportunities this season, and could be an early departure in the transfer window to free up space in the squad to allow for incomings.

The Tigers, though, could do with Drameh being available for selection, with his versatility coming in handy with Ryan Giles facing a month on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, and their need was evident in their defeat to Stoke City on New Year’s Day.

City have Matty Jacob and James Furlong available but neither has played for the first team in some time and Drameh would provide cover at left-back, or allow Lewie Coyle to shift across from right-back.

“Sometimes I’m unhappy as well, but I’m still here,” a frustrated Jakirovic told Hull Live. “What does it mean I’m unhappy? We’re professionals, of course, but if you are not ready in your head, I spoke with him two times, and I explained to him everything.

“I was a professional player. You are under the contract for another 18 months, OK? If you want to go, OK. Someone must buy you. I can speak openly, so this is true. When I need you, you must be there because you are a player, so we will see now.

“He had low back injury problems, and he missed three or four games. Yesterday he did full training with the group, which is good. We will see in the next two days what his plan is.

“He’s been telling me that I have pain, but yesterday he trained, so this is good, and I’m counting on him, of course, I’m counting on every player. Yes (he could come back for Watford). Cody’s ready.”
