Free TV and wifi is being provided across hospital sites
It will be open visiting at hospitals in the Hull and Humber region on Christmas Day, so patients have chance to celebrate with family and friends. Humber Health Partnership has also announced that its partners Spark TSL – who operate the bedside TV systems – will be providing free TV for all patients on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year, so they can cosy up and watch Christmas movies.
There is no need to do anything to access the service; it will switch over automatically. Free wifi will also be provided across hospital sites to keep people connected throughout their stay.
A spokesperson for Humber Health Partnership said: “Our catering teams are pulling out all the stops to serve up some delicious festive fare. At Grimsby and Scunthorpe, Christmas turkey or nut roast with all the trimmings is available on Christmas Day and on Boxing Day patients can choose between a delicious mushroom wellington or pork loin steak.
“At Hull and Castle Hill it’s also turkey or baked chestnut mushroom pie and all the trimmings on the big day. We also have buffet menus available for both children and adults.
“It’s been a busy period for our retail catering staff in our various cafes and restaurants too and many of them will be taking a well-earned rest over the holiday season.” There is a handy breakdown below of festive opening hours.
