Hull FC full-back Will Pryce on returning to full training, his injuries, fresh optimism, and kicking on.

Will Pryce is closing in on a full return from injury, with the Hull FC full-back declaring he is 100 percent recovered from the broken foot that ended his season early.

The 22-year-old broke his foot for the third time of his career against Leigh Leopards back in August, just two games after returning from a hamstring injury that had kept him out for 10 weeks.

To say it was a tough time for a player who puts passion and heart into everything he does is an understatement, but now he’s back and ready to enter full training once again.

The goal now is simple: earn his keep, with the player moving to the city of Hull this autumn and eager to get to grips with pre-season and build into a new campaign.

“The body’s feeling good and I’m back into the swing of things now,” Pryce told Hull Live. “I had a nice six-week break. I managed to get away and clear the head space a bit and get back to enjoying training again.

“It was a long season, a stressful one, with injuries and stuff, but my foot is back to 100 percent health. I’ve had the all-clear and I’m back in with the full team next week.

“I’m also living in Hull now. I’ve moved over, so there’s no long commute (from Bradford) anymore. I’m enjoying being back into the swing of things.

“Just being able to just wake up that hour later and being around the boys that bit more, it’s all enjoyable. I’m loving being over here; I love the area and I love the town. It’s a good move for me.”

Signing for Hull on a three-and-a-half-year deal back in March, Pryce played 10 games in his debut season. He made his club debut in a Hull derby and began to find his rhythm before injury struck: first at Catalans and then three months later against Leigh.

“It’s hard to look back now,” Pryce said of the 2025 season. “The games were so long ago but I look back at the year as a whole and I am disappointed with how it went, just in terms of the injuries.

“Every player gets them, but I’m lucky to have a great support group with my friends and family and then within the club. They all help me out day in, day out.

“If I look back at the games that I did play in 2025, I’m happy with some of my performances, but for me to go to that next level, it’s about stringing together some consistent performances, playing week in week out for Hull, and making sure I can have an influence on the team that is positive.

“I didn’t get to do that towards the back end; injuries happen, they are part of the sport and you feel a bit helpless, but hopefully I can have an injury-free year now and build on what I’ve done so far.”

Ready to go again, Pryce is confident, excited, and determined to hit that next level at a club and group he believes in.

Eager to impress and improve, he explained: “I’m really looking forward to this year. I feel like the club is building in a direction that I’m really looking forward to. We’ve made some great signings, and we’ve already got great people inside the club and the building. The belief is definitely there.

“For me, it’s about making sure I’m putting my best forward for the team, for the club, and for the fans. These next three months for me and building this pre-season are massive.

“There are loads of things I want to work on. I don’t think anyone is the complete player, but there are so many different factors I work on here with the coaches.

“For one, I want to be more involved in games. We’ve got great personnel here and a great spine: Seze (Aidan Sezer), Amir (Bourouh), John (Asiata), and now Jake (Arthur). We’re all great ball handlers, and hopefully that can unlock my running game a bit more. But also just being able to build on all the one percents, the effort plays – that’s something I want to pride myself on this year.

“I’m just excited. I’ve never been more excited for a season, not at any point in my career so far. The last time I was this excited was probably when I came through at Huddersfield and I was only young, playing Super League for the first time.

“It’s been a while for me since I played now and the expectations have changed for this club now. No one expected us to do as well as we did last season but we know within here that we fell a bit short.

“We didn’t do what we wanted to do in making the play-offs, and the expectations and aspirations for us as a group have now grown. They’ve got a lot higher – we’re serious about doing something special.”
