The 50ft Norway Spruce will arrive later this month

The Christmas tree that will stand in Queen Victoria Square this year has been revealed by Hull City Council. The tree will arrive in the city centre square later this month.

The council has revealed a 50ft Norway Spruce as this year’s tree of choice. The tree was revealed on a Facebook post which included a picture of the towering soon-to-be festive centrepiece.

Festive preparations are well underway in the city, with lights already being put up across the city centre. The official Christmas Lights Switch-On event will take place on Thursday, November 20.

Further details are expected to be revealed soon. Last year’s event saw Hull KR star Mikey Lewis join the Lord Mayor and, of course, Santa Claus himself to switch on the festive illuminations from the balcony of Hull City Hall.
