The refurbishment will cost £220,000
East Riding Leisure Driffield is set to undergo a ‘major gym refurbishment’. East Riding of Yorkshire Council said that it will feature ‘new, state-of-the-art equipment.’
The refurbishment will cost a total of £220,000 and will see new gym equipment installed including an extended free weights area and the introduction of high-tech Stages spin bikes. The area will also be decorated, and electrical works will all be taking place during the closure.
The gym will be closed from tomorrow (Sunday, November 2) at 4pm. It is expected to reopen on Saturday, November 8, at 8.30am.
The council said other areas of the centre will remain open during the gym refurbishment. Councillor Nick Coultish, cabinet member for culture, tourism and leisure at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: ‘’The refurbishment of East Riding Leisure Driffield’s gym will see the introduction of brand-new equipment, improving the facilities and overall experience for local gym goers.
‘’The re-decoration of the gym will welcome users to a bright, modern space. East Riding Leisure Driffield would like to thank the public for their patience whilst these improvements take place.’’
