The prop will return for a second season at Hull FC in 2026.

Liam Knight has reaffirmed his commitment to Hull FC after speculation this off-season linked him with a move away from the club.

Wide World of Sports reported back in September that Knight was looking to pursue a new NRL deal, having returned to Australia for the off-season. However, the club quickly shut down those reports to Hull Live, stating there was ‘nothing in them’ and that the player, who signed a new one-year deal in the summer after an impressive stint with the Black and Whites, will be back as expected ahead of the 2026 season.

But speculation regarding Knight’s future continued to arise after the prop forward shared a picture on Instagram of his former rugby league 9s team, who are scheduled to play in tournaments across Australia over the next few months. That has prompted Knight to post a new Instagram story confirming his commitment to Hull next year.

The 30-year-old, who recently got engaged to his partner Danika Mason of Australian TV Channel 9, wrote: “Just to clarify – the last footy post I put up was for a team I played for in January in a 9-a-side competition. Hull fans, I’ll be seeing you next year.”

Knight played 19 times for Hull last season, becoming a strong cornerstone of John Cartwright’s pack and earning a new deal after Super League quota allowances were extended.

“I’m stoked to be here,” he said of his new deal. “I really like this club, the boys, and the coaching staff, and I’m excited to be on board for another 12 months and see what we can build. I’m just enjoying my time here.”

Unfortunately, Knight then suffered a season-ending injury back in August with a stress fracture to his ankle and has done his rehab back in Sydney. However, the middle forward will return to pre-season training next month.

Hull Live has been told he won’t be training at Monday’s November 3 start date, with the player given some extra recovery time following his ankle fracture. The same gratitude will be given to several of Hull’s players who suffered season-ending injuries or who had operations in the off-season.
