PD Puck was on the case

At around 2.30am today (Monday, October 27), Humberside Police received reports two men carrying rucksacks were trying the door handles of homes. The men were believed to have left the area on foot towards Wellesley Avenue.
PD Puck was deployed as part of the Police Dog Unit. Thanks to the additional assistance from local residents and CCTV footage, two suspects were swiftly sighted nearby on Hardy Street.
The men were challenged by PD Puck, leading to a 28-year-old man being arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary with intent to steal. A 33-year-old man being arrested on suspicion of going equipped for burglary, attempted burglary with intent to steal, and possession of class A drugs.
Both men remain in police custody. They are assisting with ongoing enquiries at this time.
Officers are urging anyone with any information or CCTV that may assist with their continuing investigation to contact Humberside Police via the non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 25*150064.

PD Puck has previously been involved in the arrest of three teenagers after a burglary was reported in Cottingham. He sniffed out the suspects, two boys aged 16 and one aged 17.
The dog also helped with the detainment of a boy after a motorcycle was allegedly stolen. Several teenagers fled and, following a short pursuit, one boy was detained with assistance from Puck.
This comes after PD Yoiko and handler, PC Tom Marsden, won an award for their bravery through the Thin Blue Paw Foundation. Yoiko protected his handler from a man who was subsequently jailed for assaulting emergency workers.
