Hull KR have won yet another title, crowned top of IMG’s rugby league rankings.
Chief executive Paul Lakin has expressed his delight after Hull KR achieved the highest-ever IMG score, overtaking St Helens at the top of the rankings.
The treble-winning champions improved their score from 15.97 in 2024 to 17.85 in 2025 out of a possible 20 points, setting a new benchmark since the strategic partnership between IMG and rugby league began.
Lakin paid tribute to the efforts behind the scenes at Sewell Group Craven Park, rounding off a remarkable year in East Hull in which the Robins lifted the League Leaders’ Shield, Challenge Cup, and Super League title.
Hull KR ranked fifth in last year’s table, below St Helens, Wigan Warriors, Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves – and sixth in the original indicative rankings in 2023 with a score of 15.52.
“Securing the highest score in the sport is testament to all the hard work on and off the field over the last couple of years,” Lakin said.
“Clearly what the fans see are the results, and now trophies on the pitch. But behind that, a huge amount of work has gone on to improve our facilities and grow the fanbase locally in stadia and digitally across our international projects.
“The increased score is a reflection of all of that. On behalf of the board of directors I’d like to thank our partners, sponsors, staff and players, who have all done their bit to contribute.
“With the Las Vegas trip, and a World Club Challenge to host, 2026 is set to be even more exciting for the club, and gives us opportunities to keep on growing.”
Nine clubs have again secured Grade A status, including Hull FC. The Black and Whites have regained their top-tier status, moving from 10th to ninth place. Castleford, meanwhile, have dropped to Grade B.
Salford Red Devils have been relegated, replaced by Bradford Bulls, who claimed 10th spot to return to the top flight for the first time in over a decade.
