An investigation is underway regarding an incident involving home supporters at Sewell Group Craven Park during Hull KR ’s Super League Round 17 match against Leeds Rhinos.
A video emerged on social media of an altercation in the East Stand on Sunday afternoon, portraying what appeared to be a number of fans in a tussle that also involved a steward. The incident followed a pitch invasion by a Hull KR supporter, who was removed by stewards.
Leeds handed Rovers just their second defeat of the season with a 14-8 scoreline, in a match that saw reigning Man of Steel Mikey Lewis fail a head injury assessment in the first half.
The hosts had built up an 8-0 lead at the break, with Rhyse Martin converting his own opening try, before adding a penalty conversion for a high tackle from Harry Newman on Lewis.
Brad Arthur’s Rhinos however scored 14-unanswered points to claim the victory, with tries from Sam Lisone and Lachlan Miller, with Jake Connor converting both efforts alongside a penalty goal.
While the defeat was disappointing for the Super League leaders, the scenes in the stands have caused some concern as images began to be widely circulated of a perceived fight involving Rovers fans.
The clip of the incident on Sunday afternoon was shared on social media and viewed more than 650,000 times. Hull Live approached Hull KR for a comment on the matter, with Rovers confirming an investigation has been launched to look into the incident, although the club are not eager to comment at this stage until they know more.
Rovers do not play another home game for a month and return to Craven Park on August, 9, with the 2025 Challenge Cup winners facing three successive away games, starting at Leigh Leopards on Saturday afternoon.
