Humberside Police has issued an appeal after an alleged dog attack.

The incident reportedly took place on Hudson Way, on the bridleway between Beverley and Market Weighton, on Sunday, June 8. According to the force, it is reported that a woman was cycling down the track at around 9.40am when she was allegedly bitten by a dog, causing injuries to her leg.

Police said that the dog is believed to be a Bull Mastiff type dog. The force also said that it is believed the dog was being walked by two men accompanied by family members.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “The dog walkers stayed with the woman for some time but did not leave any contact details therefore we are appealing to them, or anyone else with information to please get in touch.

“You can do so by calling our non-emergency 101 line quoting crime reference 25*78235 or via the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
