Nearly 1000 homes have been left without power in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

Northern Powergrid’s live map has shown as many as 969 homes are affected this morning, many in the Beverley and Walkington area. The power company is working to fixing the issue by 10.15am.

Walkington is the main area affected, with surrounding pockets of others. The powergrid has asked anyone who loses power to let them know by contacting them.

Community Facebook page Holme on Spalding Moor Information Page has shared two updates from Northern Powergrid. It said: “Update at 9am: Check your power’s back on by turning on a light or appliance. If it isn’t, let Northern Powergrid know by calling 105.

“Monday 06/10/2025 at 7:53am: NORTHERN POWERGRID know there’s a power cut in your area. Delivering a 10/10 service is important to them and they’re working to get the power back on by 10:15am. However, please allow 30 minutes before or after this time. If it takes longer, they’ll let you know. You can track this power cut online and access extra advice and support at northernpowergrid.com/power-cuts-map or call 105 to speak to our team. Further text updates will follow.”
