Relive Hull Fair in 1995 in this nostalgic footage
Did you go to Hull Fair in 1995? If so there’s a chance you may spot yourself in these wonderful videos from almost 30 years ago!
This footage, which was filmed by the late Walter Page, of Hull, shows the fair in all its glory. It was a time when Simply Red’s aptly named Fairground was topping the charts, and you could watch Apollo 13 at the cinema before being blasted around at high speed in Walton Street.
While the fair has evolved over the years since, particularly the increasingly diverse choices of food, much of its enduring appeal comes from the things that don’t change. If these videos aren’t enough, you can see a gallery of throwback photos from the late 90s and early 2000s here.
Every year our favourites come back and it can be like stepping into a childhood memory. Even the locations on the fairground don’t move a great deal for some old favourites!
