The Robins are League Leaders’ Shield winners!
Two down. One to go.
That is the message from Willie Peters after Hull KR secured a domestic double, even if it wasn’t as straightforward as planned.
The Robins left it late to beat Warrington as tries from Arthur Mourgue and Tyrone May saw them come from behind to defeat the Wire with a win that ensured they picked up the League Leaders’ Shield.
Rovers were still far from their best but won another must-win game. And that was the overriding positive for Peters as they prepare for two more games of a similar stature in the coming weeks.
“It is going to be a good thing for us going in because semi-finals are going to be like that,” Peters told Sky Sports. “We haven’t been shy of saying we want to go after trophies. We have got two out of two, one to go.
“You have got to enjoy these moments because they don’t come around too often.”
Rovers now have a week off before the semi-finals, where they will take on the lowest-ranked team left in the competition. The only two teams they cannot play are Wigan Warriors and Leigh Leopards.
