A unique botanical garden-themed restaurant in Hull has announced it will close temporarily.
Iron Lillies in Princes Quay opened almost exactly one year ago on July 11, 2024. Its ambitious and eye-catching garden theme drummed up a lot of excitement ahead of its opening date.
With the help of a £750,000 grant, Iron Lilies brought back into use a floor space that had been empty for ten years. When Hull Live visited for a review, we were mesmerised by the statement water feature and the undeniably beautiful setting.
The announcement of the closure was made in a statement on the Princes Quay Facebook page. Tokyo Industries, which runs Iron Lillies, is also the operator behind the shopping centre.
Although the restaurant is closing for a period, it is set to return later in the year with some changes.
It said: “We’ve made the tough decision to close Iron Lilies until later in the year. The decision has not been taken lightly, after launching a fantastic concept in a luxurious setting within Princes Quay we feel we have no alternative but to revisit the concept and offering to appeal to a wider audience.
“We are excited to announce that we are looking to re-open the premises later in the year with a brand new and far more appealing offering for our guests,
“Thank you for your support, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon!”
