A motorcyclist has died following a Boxing Day crash in East Yorkshire, police have said.

Emergency crews were called to reports of a collision involving a Honda motorcycle and a Kia Rio on the A166 York Road, near the village of Wetwang, at about 13:30 GMT.

The motorcyclist was named by his family as Douglas Noble. He was 51. A Humberside Police spokesperson said Mr Noble died of his injuries on Saturday afternoon.

In a tribute released via the police, his family said they “take solace in the fact that Douglas had spent an afternoon doing what he loved, out riding his bike with his friends”.

They added that Mr Noble was “a loving son, a father-of-two and a friend to many” and that he would be “missed dearly”.

Witnesses are asked to contact police.
