Pocklington School excelled at the prestigious NSEA National Championships

Members of the Pocklington School Equestrian Team enjoyed outstanding success at the prestigious National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) National Championships. Held at Addington in Buckinghamshire, the event saw the school’s riders competing over a number of rounds, with its Combined Training Team winning first place overall, earning the title of NSEA National Champions.

Competing across several days and disciplines, riders delivered a series of impressive performances both individually and as teams. Oliver achieved a superb clear round in the 70cm showjumping, finishing in the top 20 in both the 70cm and 80cm showjumping classes against a huge field of talented riders.

The Combined Training Team of Martha, Harriet, Hope and Anna produced excellent dressage tests followed by confident showjumping rounds to secure first place overall, earning the title of NSEA National Champions. Success continued with the 80cm showjumping team of Harriet, Anna, Martha and Oliver all securing clear rounds to qualify for a later jump-off.

Performing under significant pressure, the team went on to finish an impressive sixth out of 38 teams. The weekend event concluded with Cecily competing in the Individual Dressage Championships, delivering two strong tests in a large and competitive class. Coach Miss Sally Dearing said: “It was fantastic to see all the riders’ hard work throughout the year pay off at the Championships.

“They showed great teamwork, commitment and resilience across every discipline, and I’m incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved.” The school congratulated all the riders on representing Pocklington School with such skill, determination and teamwork on the national stage.
