The Tigers finish the calendar year on the banks of the River Tees
Hull City will be roared on by another sold-out away following in their final outing of 2025 when the Tigers go to Middlesbrough on Monday evening.
All 2,118 tickets for the 7:45pm clash at the Riverside Stadium have been snapped up, and it sees a second consecutive sell-out for City‘s away following.
All 3,900 tickets were sold for the Boxing Day draw at Sheffield Wednesday, which saw City twice come from behind to salvage a point in the Steel City, and now the Tigers will be hoping to return to winning ways against the side who sit second, and five points above them.
The Tigers will be heading to Teesside determined to seek revenge on Boro for the 4-1 hammering they were on the wrong end of a the MKM Stadium in early December.
City were 4-0 down at the break after goals from David Strelec, Alex Gilbert, Morgan Whittaker and Riley McGree took advantage of some awful defending from the hosts in front of the television cameras. Jakirovic’s men recovered and did at least get on the scoresheet in the second half, with Joe Gelhardt reducing the arrears from the penalty spot before limping off injured with a calf problem which has kept him out since.
“A big thanks for their support because we were not good on the pitch and they were very good in the stands,” Jakirovic said of the backing at Hillsborough. “We have to play better for them as well as ourselves and then they can join in with our celebrations.”
