The Tigers are preparing for a busy period over Christmas
Kyle Joseph believes Hull City’s squad is the best he’s been a part of, and admits he’s relishing spending so much time with his teammates over Christmas.
The striker will be part of a Tigers squad that will have a busy festive period, together with games against Sheffield Wednesday, Middlesbrough, Stoke City and Watford to come over the next few days once Saturday’s MKM Stadium clash with West Brom is dealt with.
Jakirovic’s men have shown their close-knit spirit throughout the campaign already, and a host of them spent the weekend in Dublin after the 3-1 win over Millwall, at the players’ Christmas outing.
City boss Sergej Jakirovic will require all of his Tigers squad throughout a busy period, and Joseph says the character of the group will come to the fore, whoever gets the call with four games in 10 days from Boxing Day.
“You see the fixture period we have coming up. It’s congested, and other teams will have the same, but then again, it shows how important the squad’s going to be, how everyone’s going to be utilised and how everyone’s going to get minutes,” he told Hull Live.
“That’s why I say how special this group is. We all buy in, everyone’s a good teammate in the group, and lads will come on, make impacts and affect the game in positive ways. I think that’s massive to have a good squad during this period, and that’ll help us, and we’re all looking forward massively to the period.”
Joseph will also get to spend the busy Christmas period with two of his closest friends, Charlie Hughes and Joe Gelhardt, something he admits he’ll treasure.
“It’s amazing. You can see how close-knit the group is. It’s really special. It’s a special group, the best changing room I’ve been in, the best set of lads we’ve had.”
Despite being so close to those two in particular, Joseph admitted that he hadn’t thought about what presents to get the duo for Christmas.
“We should probably do a Secret Santa, to be fair, though it’s probably a bit late now,” he joked, before adding that his wish was for ‘A lot of points over Christmas!”
