The Tigers bring the curtain down on their MKM Stadium calendar year against Albion
Hull City expect to have Enis Destan available for the visit of West Brom to the MKM Stadium on Saturday afternoon, as the Tigers go in search of a third straight win in their final outing before Christmas.
The Turkish striker missed last Wednesday’s win over Wrexham and then Saturday’s 3-1 victory at Millwall with a hip injury he sustained in the defeat to Middlesbrough.
Destan, who has two goals to his name so far this term against Portsmouth and QPR after arriving in the summer from Trabzonspor, is set to be in the squad when City welcome former midfielder Ryan Mason’s Baggies this weekend, looking to ensure they spend Christmas inside the Championship’s top six.
City will still be without influential midfielder John Lundstram, though it’s hoped he’ll be fit to return from his knee injury to face bottom side Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Boxing Day after suffering his latest issue in training after the win at Stoke City in late November.
Joe Gelhardt, Kasey Palmer and Belgian midfielder Eliot Matazo will still be sidelined until the New Year with their calf and knee injuries, respectively, but there were no fresh injuries collected at The Den, according to boss Sergej Jakirovic.
The Tigers were 3-1 winners at Millwall, courtesy of a brace from Kyle Joseph and a late header from Oli McBurnie, with all three goals coming from crosses via Mo Belloumi, Liam Millar and Lewie Coyle.
That result, their fourth away win of the campaign and second on the spin, kept Jakirovic’s men inside the top six and saw them move to within a point of the Lions, who were third at the start of the weekend’s action.
