Flood warnings and alerts for Saturday, December 6 in East Yorkshire

  • Flood alerts and warnings are in place across the UK, with new ones issued for today, Saturday, December 6 – including two warnings. Two local alerts remain in place from Friday. A flood alert is put in place in an area where flooding is possible, while a flood warning is introduced when flooding is likely.
  • If there is a flood warning in your area, you should ‘act now’ and: move your loved ones, pets and valuables to a safe place; move to higher ground or the upper floor of a building; turn off the gas, electricity and water in your home if it’s safe; put flood protection equipment in place; do as the emergency services tell you; help others if it’s safe to do so
  • The agency is monitoring the situation and says people should take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. It says the forecast remains unsettled this week.
  • NEW FLOOD WARNING: Holderness Drain and Leven Drain at Leven: Rising river levels are expected to cause flooding today, Saturday 06 December 2025. Locations most affected will be Leven.
  • NEW FLOOD WARNING: Holderness Drain at Wawne Common and Woody Carr: Rising river levels are expected to cause flooding today, Saturday 06 December 2025. Locations most affected will be isolated properties at Wawne Common, Woody Carr and North’s Bridge.
  • NEW FLOOD ALERT: Holderness Drain: High river levels overnight may lead to flooding from the early hours of 06 December 2025. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers in the Leven, Tickton, and Bransholme areas.
  • FLOOD ALERT: River Foulness and Market Weighton catchment – High river levels may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible over the next several days. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near Welham Bridge. Levels are expected to remain high.
  • FLOOD ALERT: Lower River Derwent – Includes local roads and low-lying land around Stamford Bridge, Pocklington, Wressle, Wilberfoss and Elvington. High river levels are expected to lead to flooding today, Saturday 06 December 2025. Flooding is possible over the next several days.
  • FLOOD ALERT: North Sea coast at Bridlington – high tides today may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible from 05:00 to 09:00 tomorrow on 06 December 2025. High tides throughout the evening may lead to flooding from overtopping. Locations most affected will be coastal roads and footpaths. Avoid beaches and coastal promenades, which may be flooded .
