Vuba counts the likes of Harry Redknapp, Mark Wright, Peter Crouch and Abbey Clancy among its celebrity fans

A company which counts celebrities Olly Murs, Harry Redknapp and Peter Crouch among its fans is moving into Hull’s tech campus. Vuba has taken over the final building at Hull’s @TheDock tech campus after striking a deal with commercial property developer Wykeland Group.

Vuba was an original member of the digital community that inspired Wykeland’s investment to create the Centre for Digital Innovation (C4DI) tech hub. It has now gone full circle, coming back to Hull’s waterfront to move into the final building within the @TheDock commercial community.

It means @TheDock – in Hull’s Fruit Market area – is now fully let, completing more than a decade of investment by Wykeland to create the vibrant tech hub. Vuba is relocating its headquarters from Beverley, East Yorkshire, to take the whole 11,000 sq ft building. The move will ramp up the company’s digital growth, with plans to expand its team of digital marketers, social media and content creators, videographers and website developers.

Managing director Sean Scott said: “Our move to @TheDock is a real statement of intent. It represents our growth as a forward-thinking digital business, and recognises us as a major employer and an exciting place to work.

“It’s a fitting reward for our staff, who have played such a significant role in the business growing to where it is today. We wanted to provide the team with a quality place to work and, in our new office, we have achieved exactly that.”

Founded in 2009, Vuba manufactures permeable surfacing, commonly used on driveways and in gardens. Its products start in the lab where they are developed by an in-house team of scientists. The products are then manufactured in one of Vuba’s three production facilities.

Vuba’s DIY stone binder Easihold recently won The King’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation, and is manufactured at a site in Beverley. Vuba’s new £3m state-of-the-art mineral processing factory in Goole produces dried aggregates; and resin products are manufactured in Birstall, West Yorkshire, but will soon be moving back to Hull.

The company has expanded its operations to reach 15 countries across Europe, as well as establishing a presence in the North American market. Vuba has a powerful social media presence with more than 1.8 million followers across social media, helping it to attracted the attention of a string of celebrities.

Singer Olly Murs, TV personality Mark Wright and his wife, actress Michelle Keegan, ex-footballer Peter Crouch and his model wife Abbey Clancy, and husband and wife Love Island stars Alex and Olivia Bowen are among Vuba’s high-profile customers.

Vuba also recently supplied a driveway for former football manager and I’m A Celebrity King of the Jungle Harry Redknapp. After the installation of the high-end VubaMac driveway at Harry and wife Sandra’s home in the exclusive Sandbanks area on the south coast, the ex-West Ham, Portsmouth and Tottenham boss travelled to Beverley to take charge of a Vuba staff football team.

The @TheDock campus has played a major role in the regeneration of the Fruit Market into a thriving urban village, home to hundreds of residents and featuring an array of independent shops, restaurants, bars and galleries. The cluster of five buildings, forming a courtyard with popular café Nibble at its heart, has been the catalyst for the growth of dozens of digital businesses and creation of hundreds of highly-skilled jobs.
