‘Thoughtful gestures can have a huge impact on a patient’s wellbeing’
Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust’s charity Health Stars is launching its annual Gift Appeal for children and young people receiving mental health treatment and support in hospital this year.
Christmas in hospital away from family and friends can be a particularly challenging time. However, Health Stars said that a small gift can make the word of difference.
Unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at collection points across Hull and East Yorkshire. There is also the alternative to purchase directly from the appeal’s Amazon Wishlist or to make a cash donation to the appeal which will be used to purchase additional gifts.
Charity Manger Anita Green said: “Christmas is a time for giving, and we are committed to bringing a little joy to those spending the festive season in the Trust’s inpatient settings. Last year’s Christmas Gift Appeal was an incredible success, with generous donations helping to bring a little festive cheer to patients across the Trust.
“Christmas can be a difficult time for many people which is why these thoughtful gestures can have a huge impact on a patient’s wellbeing.”
