It will be a weekend filled with festive fun

Hull city centre is set to be full of festive spirit this month. Hull City Council has announced a full Christmas weekend of events.

Part of the line-up will include a Christmas market on King Edward Street. There will be street entertainment, food and drink offers and covered seating with live music performances.

A festive panto will take place on the main stage in Queen Victoria Square. Over in Princes Quay, the ground floor stage will be filled with musical performances.

On the Saturday only, more street entertainment will take place down Whitefriargate. This will lead the way to a Victorian Market in Trinity Square and Hull Minster.

Hull’s Christmas weekend will take place 10am – 4pm Saturday, November 29, and 11am – 4pm Sunday, November 30. For more information on what to expect, click here.

Councillor Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure, spoke of his excitement. He said: “We are really excited to bring this exciting weekend to the city centre.

“It’s the perfect opportunity for families to come and get started with their Christmas shopping in a fantastically festive atmosphere. We know the event will inject energy and footfall, giving a huge boost to our local businesses while creating a truly magical, memorable atmosphere for everyone—residents and visitors alike.”

The council said that Hull Trains are working with Visit Hull to offer free travel to and from Hull from Doncaster, Selby, Howden and Brough. This will be on selected services in November and December.

Hull Trains is incredibly proud of our connection to the community and we hope everyone enjoys a magical day out.”
