The incident happened in the early hours of this morning

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a ‘stabbing’ in Hull. Police were called to a property in Broadley Close in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, October 25).

It is reported that, at around 1am, a man entered the address and “allegedly threatened and stabbed another man, causing injuries to his arm”. A 42-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that “are not thought to be life threatening at this time”.

Following the incident, Detective Inspector Lloyd Sharkett, of Humberside Police, said: “I understand an incident of this nature will cause concern amongst the local community, but I would like to offer my reassurance that we believe this to be an isolated incident between two people known to each other.

“I can confirm a 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody at this time. As part of our investigation, officers have carried out thorough searches of the area and recovered a knife believed to be connected to the incident.

“A scene guard remains in place to allow officers and Crime Scene Investigators to carry out their enquiries, and residents may notice an increased police presence in the area. If anyone witnessed the incident, has any information or concerns, we encourage you to speak to officers in the area, or call our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 23 of 25 October 2025.”
