Hull FC are in the driving seat to play in Las Vegas.

Hull FC and St Helens have ‘one foot in the door’ as far as playing in Las Vegas goes for 2027, at least according to Rugby League Commercial Managing Director Rhodri Jones.

The Black and Whites were one of four clubs considered to play at Allegiant Stadium in 2026, with Super League now part of the rugby league extravaganza put on by Australia’s NRL competition. The other three clubs were Hull KR, Leeds Rhinos, and St Helens – with Rovers meeting Leeds in 2026 alongside NRL quartet Canterbury Bulldogs, St George Illawarra Dragons, Newcastle Knights, and North Queensland Cowboys.

However, Jones has now conceded that Hull and St Helens are front runners to play in 2027, with the general expectation being that the two Super League clubs will meet in Sin City the year after next.

Speaking to Hull Live, Jones said: “It’s well documented that there were four teams we spoke to and looked at and were keen on, the other two being St Helens and Hull FC. They’ve probably got a foot in the door for 2027. But that work will start after Vegas 2026.”

Meanwhile, Hull KR and Leeds are thought to have sold around 7,000 tickets for Vegas already, with the two clubs set to pass what Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves did back in March. And for Super League’s future as part of the event, that is crucial.

“We’ve got to make sure that next year is better than what Vegas 2025 was,” Jones continued. “That game delivered for us through a TV audience with Sky and through the build-up with Michael Buffer, which was unprecedented for a Super League launch. We’ve got to do what we can to make sure we replicate and better it.”
