City have been one of the Championship’s entertainers in the opening 10 games
Former Hull City man Kevin Kilbane admits he’s been impressed by what he’s seen from the Tigers so far this season with Oli McBurnie the key to any hopes of success.
McBurnie was named September’s Player of the Month for bagging five of his goals during a good month for him and the Tigers, and so far Octover has started well.
City beat former club Sheffield United before the international break and then roared to a second successive win with a 3-2 victory at Birmingham City on Saturday, to claim their first win on the road.

The in-form star had a hand in the openng goal at St Andrew’s with his deft pass freeing Kyle Joseph to score via a touch from Jack Robinson, but he did have to come off in the second half and is a doubt for the visit of Leicester City on Tuesday night.
The other two goals netted by Regan Slater and Joe Gelhardt took City’s Championship tally for the season to 17, which is the second highest behind Coventry City’s impressive 29.
“I’ve really enjoyed watching Hull this season, and I think Oli McBurnie is a fantastic signing that could help Hull (City) have a really good season. It’s been great to see Oli banging in important goals, and you need someone to be prolific if you want to be successful in the Championship,” he said in conversation with Best New Bingo Sites.
“They also have great leadership in the side now with John Egan, and I know him very well. So, I think they can develop with the squad they have now. Conceding goals is a problem for a lot of good teams in the Championship. It’s a very open league. It’s so difficult. But if you have somebody like Egan who can control the back four or five, however they’re going to play going forward this season, I think you’re always going to be better for that.”
Kilbane has also spoken of his admiration for Ryan Giles, who has really caught the eye in the opening weeks of the new campaign having seemed to be on his way out after ending last season on loan at Middlesbrough.
“Ryan Giles is a fantastic player, and it’s great to see him be so creative once again in this Hull side. Championship teams need players all over the pitch who can be creative if they want to succeed, and the more chances Hull and Ryan create for McBurnie, the better chance they have of winning games and climbing the table.”
