The Canadian winger is back after his latest injury lay-off and making an impact

Liam Millar believes Hull City will continue to get better and better as players find their rhythm after injury, as the busy festive period takes hold.

Millar started for the first time since the fine win over Leicester City at Millwall last weekend and made an immediate impact, providing a superb cross for Kyle Joseph to convert just seven minutes after the striker had turned in the opener from Mo Belloumi’s cross.

That 3-2 win at The Den was the first time in more than 12 months that both Millar and Belloumi had started a City game together, following their respective ACL and hamstring injuries.

The Canadian continued his comeback with another 84 minutes on Saturday as City beat West Brom 1-0 to move fourth in the Championship at Christmas.

Excitement is growing about what could happen in 2026 with City surprising many observers to sit sixth in the Championship as the halfway point of the campaign approaches, and Millar feels that if the players keep up the standards of the opening 21 games, they’ll give themselves a major chance.

“Every game is just another opportunity to keep showing who we are,” he told Hull Live. “I think as a team we’re getting better and better each week,” the Canadian told Hull Live. “I’ve not been playing for a long time, and I feel my relationships with Gilo, with Regan, with Oli, with Kyle, whoever it may be who’s near me, just growing and growing each game.

“I think as we keep going and the relationships are going to get better and better, the team’s going to keep getting better and better. We also have Mo (Belloumi), who’s obviously a top player as well. We’ve just got to keep going away, keep grinding, and everything will be alright.”
