An Orchard Park pub has recently reopened following a £270,000 investment. The Rampant Horse, in Hall Road, Hull, celebrated its grand reopening on November 28 following a transformation funded by licensees Glenn Wright and Graham Lee in partnership with Admiral Taverns.

The refurbishment has breathed fresh life into the establishment, balancing a modernised look and feel with the preservation of its original, characterful features, such as the traditional wooden flooring. This investment has allowed the licensees to maintain a social hub for local residents, further cementing the pub’s position at the heart of the community.

Internally, the pub has undergone a notable renovation featuring new fixtures, fittings, and furniture. A newly-renovated cozy snug area now features plush new carpeting, while a redesigned bar area and games room provide the perfect environment for customers to relax and socialise.

Sports fans are also well-catered for, with the installation of three 60-inch and one 50-inch flat-screen televisions in the venue. The exterior has been revitalised too, greeting visitors with new lighting and signage. For those who prefer to enjoy their drinks outdoors when the weather warms up, the enhanced beer garden now provides comfortable seating for more than 15 people.

Licensees Glenn and Graham, who have been at the helm since 2024, bring a wealth of local knowledge to the venture. Having frequented the pub as regulars for many years, they possess a deep-rooted understanding of the area. They remain committed to maintaining a family-friendly atmosphere that welcomes everyone with open arms.

Graham said: “We’re absolutely delighted with the results of this terrific investment and opening night was a huge success! We loved welcoming customers back, both old and new, to show off the pub’s brand-new look and everything it has to offer.

“We have really enjoyed our time at the Rampant Horse so far and I would like to thank everyone, from our family and friends to our customers, team and of course Admiral Taverns, for all their ongoing support over the past year. We look forward to everything the future holds for this fabulous community pub!”

Looking ahead, the duo have planned a busy schedule of regular entertainment to keep the community connected. This includes live music every Saturday, a Friday social club starting at 2pm for those facing loneliness, and a ‘Sunday Funday’ event featuring bingo and a raffle. They also hope to establish pool and darts teams and introduce weekly quiz nights in the near future.

Central to their mission is the desire to give back. Glenn and Graham will host regular fundraising events and community initiatives in aid of Andy’s Man Club, a local mental health charity.

Craig Kennedy, business development manager at Admiral Taverns, added: “Glenn and Graham have brought real passion and dedication to the Rampant Horse since taking it over, and they have built a strong, community-focused pub that will continue to be enjoyed by local residents for many years to come. It’s been a joy working with them to bring their vision for the pub to life and on behalf of myself and everyone at Admiral Taverns, I wish Glenn, Graham and the whole team at the Rampant Horse the very best for the future.”
