Parts of the A63 in Hull city centre will be shut at the weekend, National Highways has announced.

It will close between Roger Millward Way and Daltry Street in both directions from 20:00 on Friday 5 December to 06:00 on Saturday, when the eastbound carriageway will reopen.

The westbound carriageway will remain shut until 06:00 on Monday 8 December.

National Highways said the closure was “essential to deliver roadworks and complex drainage-related tasks that cannot be completed within a single night shift.”

The agency added that it was “aware of events taking place in the city centre, so would advise people to allow extra time for their journeys”.

Major work began in 2020 to build a new junction as part of the A63 Castle Street Scheme, which is due for completion in spring 2026.
