2.7 million workers set to get a pay rise

In a preview of the Budget, the Chancellor confirmed plans to lift both the National Minimum Wage and the National Living Wage.

This move could see millions of UK workers earning more, with rates increasing for all age groups.

The National Minimum Wage will rise 8.5% to £10.85 an hour, and the National Living Wage, for those 21+, will increase 4.1% to £12.71 an hour.

Pay for apprentices and 16- to 17-year-olds will also go up, by 6% to £8 an hour.
