

Those born that year will be well aware it’s 40 years since 1985.
It was when BBC soap EastEnders made its debut, Live Aid took place at Wembley, films such as Back To The Future and The Goonies were released and radio listeners were Dancing In The Street with David Bowie and Mick Jagger, and hearing not one, not two, but three songs called The Power Of Love (Jennifer Rush, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Huey Lewis And The News, of course).
Here we look back on the year in the Hull and East Yorkshire area from queues outside of Gough & Davy for tickets to a legendary concert, a promotion-winning season for Hull City, and progress being made on what is now known as the A63 Clive Sullivan Way.
