Residents are being warned in advance of the full scale safety exercise

Alarms will sound at Saltend Chemicals Park this afternoon as part of a safety exercise. Residents and nearby businesses are being warned in advance so that they know not to worry.

SCP’s commiunications partner Mapa PR said: “As a communications partner to Saltend Chemicals Park, we are giving advance notice to local residents and businesses of a full site safety exercise.

“It involves the sounding of alarms on Tuesday, November 25. This is in addition to the regular weekly Wednesday alarm test.

They said the exercise was part of a commitment to health and safety on site and to test response practices. Saltend Chemicals Park is owned and operated by px Group.

The 370-hectare site is home to some of the world’s leading blue chip manufacturing, chemicals and renewal energy businesses.
