It was the year of Apollo 17, the final time (to date) astronauts walked on the moon. It is hard to believe, but 1972 was more than half a century ago.
This was also the year David Bowie released The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, featuring Hull-area legends Mick Ronson, Trevor Bolder and Woody Woodmansey.
